Carisa Barreca is an Alumni of The Second City's Resident Stage where she wrote and performed in three consecutive critically acclaimed revues, Soul Brother, Where Art Thou, Clown Car Named Desire and Apes Of Wrath.
She had the honor of performing at Lyric Opera with Patrick Stewart and Renee Fleming in The Second City’s Guide to the Opera. More recently she performed at the Kennedy Center and at Goodman Theater with Twist Your Dickens and she wrote and performed in The Hubbard Street and Second City's Collaboration, Art Of Falling which premiered at the Harris Theater in Chicago and The Ahmanson Theater in Los Angeles.
She recently could be seen in her long running, award winning show, She The People, which she wrote for, Assistant Directed, and choreographed.
Her television and film credits include recurring roles as GiGi on Big Leap, Lizzie on Fox's Empire, Sue on POPTV's Hot Date , Chicago Fire, and her own award winning webseries Doomsdate, which she wrote, performed in and produced.
She is a founding member and an Artistic Director of Matter Dance Company which has been voted Best Dance Company and Carisa was voted Best Choreographer by the Chicago Reader.
